Fried/roasted chicken must be a huge biz in Korea, or perhaps it’s cheap to hire Korean celebs to endorse their product, or probably a bit of both.

Sharing here some Korean commercials featuring popular girls groups SNSD, Wonder Girls, Kara and 4minutes for different chicken restaurant chains…

Free donuts on National Doughnut Day

American folks celebrate the National Doughnut Day today (first Friday in June), and Krispy Kreme is offering customers who visit participating Krispy Kreme retail locations in the United States one free doughnut of their choice.

National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to raise funds during the Great Depression and to honor the work of World War I Salvation Army volunteers who prepared doughnuts for thousands of soldiers.

As said, it’s celebrated annually on the first Friday in June. I demand this day to be celebrated around the world… everyone deserved a free donut :p

7-Eleven in Hualian, Taiwan

It has become a habit of mine to visit franchises like 7-Eleven or McDonald’s when I visit to different countries. Although they are similar in every countries, normally each places would have their own unique stuff that are not available elsewhere.

It has also become a habit of mine to taste different (local) beer and instant noodles when I visit different countries…

Taiwan beer, at a 7-Eleven store in Hualian… very mild

McDonald’s #1 Store

Thought to be the first McDonald’s store when I posted the original article… but turned out that it’s a museum which was modelled after the first McDonald’s Restaurant opened by McDonald’s Corporation founder, Ray Kroc, in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1955.

The first McDonald’s was actually opened by Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California in 1948… the Des Plaines restaurant was the ninth outlet but is often regarded to be the beginning of the modern McDonald’s franchise that exist today [more McDonald's history on Wiki]
