One of my favourite music videos ever, with a Japanese school girl breakdancing (or popping to be precise?) to the funky techno beat…
The song is I My Me Mine by Japanese new wave band Polysics, released in 2006. The girl is nicknamed Strong Machine 2 after her father, who’s a Buddhist priest and breakdancer with the stage name Strong Machine 1.
SM2 was 11 when the MV was released. She became a mini-celebrity after that, featuring in TV commercials and appearing on variety shows every now and then.
