<p>J-pop fans in the region should be pretty excited about the news despite the fact that Morning Musume&#8217;s popularity has been fading a bit in recent years&#8230;  the all-girls group is an icon synonymous to Japanese pop culture after all.</p>
<p>Some self-proclaimed hardcore anime fans might not be too happy though; I&#8217;ve known a few people that don&#8217;t fancy pop stars intruding anime/manga conventions, especially those whose previous works are totally not related to anime culture.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Popular Japanese pop duo Chage &#038; Aska announced that they are going on indefinite hiatus (as a pair) and will focus on their solo career instead.  The duo denied that they are formally disbanded as rumoured, but their fans might not be seeing their joint performance for a long long time.</p>
<p>The veteran duo made their debut in 1979 and were extremely popular in the 80s and early 90s; they were one of the earliest J-pop acts which got my attention.  Sharing a Chage &#038; Aska&#8217;s song below, &#8220;Otoko to Onna&#8221; (lit. Men and Women) which was popularly covered by Chinese singer Wakin Chau&#8230;</p>
