Fried/roasted chicken must be a huge biz in Korea, or perhaps it’s cheap to hire Korean celebs to endorse their product, or probably a bit of both.

Sharing here some Korean commercials featuring popular girls groups SNSD, Wonder Girls, Kara and 4minutes for different chicken restaurant chains…

English subbed MV of Laugh (웃어) by Korean hip hop duo Mighty Mouth, featuring R&B diva Insooni. The song is the first track from the duo’s Smile mini-album…

The song is just ok for me, but I like its a-laughter-a-day-keeps-the-doctor-away theme. Another attraction of the video is the cameos from host of Korean stars, i.e. 4minute, Kara, After School, 2am, Epik High, Lee Seung-gi, Baek Ji-young, Taegoon, Kim Jong-kook, Kim Tae-woo, Jung Juri and Jewelry S etc.

English-subbed music video of “Pretty Girl” from Korean girls group Kara, a song from their same title mini-album which was released in early December 2008.

Cute girls, bubbly tune, self absorbant lyrics, upbeat video… which reminds me of some J-pop groups like Morning Musume and AKB48 somehow. Would be great if the choreography is more original; it’s looking a bit too similar with a few others.

The song was pretty catchy when I first listened to it, kinda fits the holiday season mood… but just ok after playing it for a few times.

Korean girls groups wishing Happy Chuseok 2008

Chuseok (추석 – Full Moon Harvest) is a Korean festival celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month in lunar calendar (Sept 14 in 2008).

Chuseok is one of the two biggest holidays in Korea (the other is Seollal the Korean New Year). It is considered the Korean equivalent of Thanksgiving and a time to honour ancestors with newly harvested grains and fruits [more on KoreaNet]

As for Korean entertainment fans, it’s the season to see their favourite Korean celebs in traditional Hanbok wishing everyone a happy Chuseok. Sharing a few pics of some all-girls Korean pop groups (image from Newsen and Star)…
