Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur is one of the largest Chinese temples in Malaysia. Dedicated to Goddess Tian Hou (Heavenly Empress), the temple was opened in late 80s and has became a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful architecture as well as numerous cultural and festivity events.
Sharing a few photos during my visit last week; was attending a friend’s marriage registration ceremony, a popular sub-service provided by the temple…
Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; formerly the world’s tallest buildings.
Didn’t like the towers when it was completed in the 90s; used to think that it was a complete waste of money. Only started to appreciate the project after some global travelling over the past few years… as I began to realise the significance of having some iconic buildings or landmark in a metropolis.
Took these pics in April 2008; was testing with my new DSLR camera which was bought a few days before this…
A video of BASE jumping from KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during the KL International Tower Jump (KLITJ) in August 2006…
BASE is the acronym for Building, Antenna, Span and Earth… the categories of fixed objects that are usual jumping platforms for this extreme sport. [more on Wiki]
KLITJ is becoming a popular event for BASE jumpers around the world; the annual event is moving into its seventh edition in 2008. Besides the 421m KL Tower, the jumping sessions are now extended to a few other locations across the country.
Had a drink with a few old buddies at Sky Bar last month. The pub, located at Traders Hotel, is popular in Kuala Lumpur for its pool side setting and its prime location which provides a great view for Petronas Twin Towers, formerly the world’s tallest building.
A visit to Malaysia’s National Zoo (Zoo Negara in Malay) on June 2, 2007.
It was our king’s birthday and a public holiday; my sister (with hubby and kids) from Penang took the chance to visit us in Kuala Lumpur… and the zoo seemed like the perfect place for family outing, especially with a bunch of little kids.
Can’t remember when my prior trip to Zoo Negara was… used to visit the zoo quite often when I was a kid, but it must be more than a decade ago since my last visit before this trip…
