Exotic fragrances & free honeymoon to curb divorce rate

A Malaysian state is scrambling to find ways to improve sexual relations, as the divorce rate in the state is rising in an alarming rate. There’s at least three in every ten marriages registered in the Terengganu state that ended in divorce.

Boring sex and smelly body odour were said to be the main reasons behind the break up among young folks; thus the state is thinking of inviting cosmetic firms to introduce exotic and sensuous fragrances which can arouse sexual ardour.

Earlier last month there’s also suggestions that couples on the brink of divorce to be offered free honeymoon packages to rekindle their romance.

This is turning into an interesting series; note that Terengganu is one of the most conservative states in the country… wonder what is coming next lol.

Malaysian baby gets free AirAsia flights for life

A premature baby boy who was born on board an AirAsia flight last Wednesday night will be given free flights for life with the Malaysia-based budget airline.

The aircraft made an emergency diversion to Kuala Lumpur when the mother went into labour, but the baby was smart enough to pop out before the plane landed, thanks to the great assist by Dr. Ronald who happened to be on board.

The mother will enjoy the same free flights for life as well; wonder if there’s any bonus for the doctor though… guess not.

Congrats to the mummy & baby; and a pat on the back for Dr. Ronald :)

Lobster stir-fried with chilli paste; probably not a wise option, as the strong seasoning was too dominant that it’s hard to taste the original lobster flavour. Nice texture though; freshness at its best…

Mount Mat Cincang is one of the major tourist attractions in Langkawi, Malaysia, famous for its panoramic view of rainforest on the island and the Andaman Sea, with neighbouring Thailand within sight as well.

Photos from my Langkawi trip in August 2009. Couldn’t see much of the sea view unfortunately; the visibility was pretty low during my visit due to hazy weather.

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas is the latest project from my online friend Quachee. It’s an online cookshow showcasing the Peranakan (or Nyonya) cuisine.

Peranakan refers to descendants of foreign immigrants (primarily Chinese) who assimilated with the Nusantara community during the 15th & 16th century and created a unique culture of their own. Chinese-Peranakan is often referred to as Baba (male) and Nyonya (female).

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas revolves around a Peranakan grandmother teaching her grandchildren and friends on the art of cooking Nyonya dishes. Below are the first four (of eight) webisodes…

107-year-old Malaysian woman wants 23rd husband

A 107-year-old Malaysian woman is looking to marry again… for the 23rd time.

The old lady from the state of Terengganu became talk of the town in 2007 when she married a 37-year-old guy. She now believes her husband might leave her after completing his drug rehabilitation programme and settlling down in Kuala Lumpur besides marrying a woman younger than her.

What can I say… everyone deserves a little companion, as bizarre as it sounds. Wonder if she’s eyeing on a Super Junior (118% pun intended) this time lol.

Dined at Chao Yen restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall in July 2009, which branded itself for authentic Teochew cuisine.

Teochew food focuses on braised, steamed and salt-preserved cooking methods; and probably most famous for its congee with variety of side dishes.

Alain Robert, nicknamed Spiderman, climbed successfully to the top of Malaysia’s iconic 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers on September 1…

The 46-year-old Frenchman is famous for scaling skyscrapers and famous architectures across the world, without safety equipments.

This was Robert’s third attempt to conquer the 452m Petronas Towers, formerly the world’s tallest building. He made the first attempt in 1997, and the second a decade later; both climbs were thwarted by authorities on the 60th floor.

He was subsequently arrested and fined RM2000 (~USD567) for illegal trespassing.
