I’m not sure how common debutante balls are in the US, I’ve always perceived it as a high-society thing. The Filipinos are probably the only Asian community actively engaged with the practise; it’s almost unheard of in Asia.
Music video of Something Like A Party by American teenage pop trio School Gyrls – consists of members Amanda Mosley, Jacque Pyles and Filipino-American Monica Parales. The ladies are getting some attention in Korea following their opening act for K-pop groups Wonder Girls and 2PM in their recent US concert.
Something Like A Party is the debut single of School Gyrls, released in February 2010. It’s also the first track of the girls’ self-titled debut album which was released in March.
