Dined at Chao Yen restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall in July 2009, which branded itself for authentic Teochew cuisine.

Teochew food focuses on braised, steamed and salt-preserved cooking methods; and probably most famous for its congee with variety of side dishes.

Super GT International Series Malaysia, Sepang 2009

The Super GT series is back in Malaysia; Sepang International Circuit will again host the popular Japan-based auto racing championship on June 19-21, 2009.

A panning photo below; taken while collecting my ticket in the afternoon. Didn’t spend much time there, the real show only happens in the next two days…

Beside the super cars and Japanese race queens, the organiser is running a lot more extra activities this year to pull the crowd, such as drift demo, rave party and autograph sessions etc.

Should be an entertaining weekend ahead; hope that the summer heat won’t be too unbearable.

Lunch at Kin Shui Tei Japanese Restaurant at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort last Sunday. First heard about the restaurant from my ex Japanese boss years ago, who recommended the place for its authentic Japanese cuisine…

Somehow it took me years to make my maiden visit, which turned out to be one of the best Japanese meals I’ve ever had; guess it’s better late than never…

Was thinking of having fish for dinner yesterday (Jan 10) and bumped into the restaurant by chances while making rounds at Puchong Jaya.

The restaurant dubbed itself as a ‘wild natural river fish specialist’, and I am very much a fish lover (in edible sense)… so it clicked as soon as I saw the restaurant.

LaLa Chong Seafood Restaurant, Subang, Selangor

Dinner on New Year’s Day at the Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant, a popular place located just opposite of Subang Airport, Selangor, Malaysia.

Used to dine at here occasionally when I was staying nearby at Kelana Jaya, but this was my first visit since moving to my new place in late 2007.

The restaurant’s signature dish is Siong-Tong La-La (clamps in special stock), and they always maintained a decent standard with their crabs. There are a few other gems in their menu, but I would advise staying away from the fish dishes. Overall a good dining place with reasonable price.

MTV Asia Awards 2008 – winners

The 6th annual MTV Asia Awards was held last Saturday (Aug 2) at Arena of Stars in Genting, Malaysia. I watched the delayed telecast at home… a decent show.

Don’t bother too much about the results though; their awards have always been dubious and it seems like the ‘tradition’ will continue to be preserved…
