Korea’s major school uniform makers have agreed to end all celebrity endorsements indefinitely before the new school term begins in March; the cost cutting decision was made following government’s demand to halt the rising prices of school uniforms.

It’s a good call from the government and manufacturers, but some fans might mourn that they won’t be seeing their favourite idols in cute uniforms in near future. Sharing here some star-studded Korean school uniform commercials to ease their pain lol…

Sunye’s (from WonderGirls) wardrobe trouble seems to be grabbing the headlines though; and Big Bang’s fans are wondering how their favourite group managed to end up with nothing at all considering how red hot they are at the moment.

AnyMotion

“Anymotion” is the first of three instalments produced for Anycall; featuring Eric Mun from pop group Shinhwa. The video was a bit controversial for a few reasons (copycats and racism etc), but it’s quite cool nonetheless…

Korean star Eric Mun becomes the first member from pop-group Shinhwa to join the Korean army to serve his mandatory military service. Over 300 supporters, including some oversea fans, bid farewell to the 29-year-old star before he was enlisted last Thursday (Oct 9) into Nonsan military training centre.

Korean guys whose parents are both Koreans are required to join the army for 22-26 months (depending on enlisted units). If not mistaken they can choose to fulfil their duty in between the age of 20-30; most of the Korean stars are enlisted rather late though, as their careers are normally booming in early 20s.

Four other members of Shinhwa, i.e. Dongwan, Junjin, Minwoo and Andy will be joining the army in the next two years, which literally means that Shinhwa could be in hiatus for up to four years. Hyesung is the only member exempted from military service due to medical condition.

The concert will feature some of the hottest K-pop stars, including the Wonder Girls, Shinhwa’s Andy & Junjin, Jewelry, Chae Yeon, and V.O.S etc.

The concert tickets will not be sold through the usual outlets, but will be given away over the next few weeks through the key sponsors [more on Coolsmurf]

Other events during the festival are food fiesta, traditional dance performances, taekwondo demonstrations, film festival and contemporary art exhibition etc. Check out the event website for details and updates.

Sounds like a fun event; too bad that the concert tickets are not for sale.

Latest music video from Korean pop group Shinhwa, “Run”… featured in Shinhwa’s Vol.9 album which also commemorates their 10th anniversary. With the members due to enlist in military service soon, this album is selling like hot cakes at the moment.

I like the piano-play at the beginning, but overall the song is just ok for me. Funny video though…
