Sun Mi (or Mimi) is leaving Korean pop group Wonder Girls, at least temporarily, to continue her studies back in Korea. The 17-year-old will take an indefinite break after wrapping up the activities in the US by late February.

Sun Mi shed tears at press conference
Wonder Girls fans are saddened seeing their young member Sun Mi shedding tears on a press conference.
The Korean pop group is taking a break from their US activities and return to Korea to film some commercials. And Sun Mi broke into tears during a press conference on Oct 23 while talking about her life in the US.
The singer said that she cried every night when she first arrived in US, feeling lonely (and too young). Her substandard English also made it difficult for her to make new friends and to socialise with others.
The pop group has achieved decent success in US. They have just became the first Korean singers to rank on Billboard Hot 100 chart with hit song Nobody; but some fans must be wondering if it’s worth pushing the girls over the limits for that.

Wonder Girls – Tell Me music video
English subbed Korean MV for Tell Me by pop group Wonder Girls; arguably the hottest song in Korea at the moment…
I’m a bit surprised with the song’s popularity. It’s pretty catchy, but I didn’t expect a bubblegum type of song would get such massive response.
The video concept and the choreography probably contribute a great deal to its popularity… it seems as if everyone is learning the dance in Korea.

Wonder Girls – Irony music video
English subbed Korean MV of Irony by teenage pop group Wonder Girls, from their debut EP The Wonder Begins which was released in February 2007.
Girl groups used to be pretty popular in K-pop, but faded since the disbandment of S.E.S and Fin.K.L etc. Seems like the agencies are trying to revive the trend.
