I’m closing the Malaysian social political (SP) section; I’ve not been updating these issues for half a year, might as well officially end my SP journey instead.

I started blogging about Malaysian SP issues in late 2005; the blogging environment and SP development in the country were obviously different back then. After years of debating on various issues, I guess I’m getting a bit tired.

SP is a subjective matter; I must have written a few stuff that offended some people unfortunately. I’m not going to say sorry for most cases which were subjected to different personal opinions, but I’m apologetic if my wrong choice of words have hurt some personal feelings.

Most of the SP articles are deleted; as some are no longer relevant, while some a bit too sensitive. To be frank I don’t want to have the slightest concern that the authorities will knock my door someday for what I’ve blogged years ago.

The remainder of the articles are merged with my main personal and lifestyle blog, hiding within the maze of stories with lighter focuses. If you are interested to dig up the old SP posts somehow, kindly follow the Malaysian social politics tag.

The end of my Malaysian social political blogging from YeinJee's Asian Journal

The Ahmad Ismail saga has been straying for way too long. Not sure if he did slur those Pendatang or Penumpang words, but I chose to believe those reporters who claimed to have heard what he said loud and clear.

The issue is obviously being politicised and blown out of proportion, and some of the Chinese communities are over-reacting on this issue.

Seriously, are the Chinese THAT offended with what Ahmad Ismail said? Or just that the Chinese politicians thought that they finally found an easy target to win back some Chinese supporters?

The recent development in Malaysia has prompted me to think a lot lately. There are lots of things that I wanted to share, but I kept on writing and deleting it for the past hour, because it’s hard to put my actual thoughts into words.

Bottomline is, too many Malaysians are complaining too much recently. We are always asking what the country can do for us… but how often have we heard from Malaysians on what we can do for the country instead?

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
