The top of the Castle Hill (La Colline du Chateau) is a must visit in Nice. Nothing much was left from the castle (Le Château) on top of the hill, but the place offered a great view of the city and harbour.
Me and my sister decided to take the elevator to go up the hill and walk down the stairs on our way back. We just didn’t have the energy to walk up hundreds of steps for the view… walking downwards offered just about the same experience, probably.

Some remains of the castle (I guess)

After taking breakfast we decided to head to Castle Hill (La Colline du Chateau), where we could have a nice aerial view of Nice. We strolled along some narrow streets in the old town (Vieux Nice) and wandered into a market on our way to the Chateau.
We had to be careful though, there were lots of dog poo on the pavements.

Me and my sister woke up early in the morning, in hope to catch the sunrise on the sea horizon… too bad that the sun is rising on the opposite side of the sea horizon.
The experience wasn’t bad though, sunrise is always beautiful. Besides, it was still a nice feeling spending the early morning on the quiet pebble beach… it was peaceful and tranquil.

Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) was built in the 14th century during the Avignon papacy.
I was not too impressed by the Palace. Set aside its history, the only thing that worth mentioning is perhaps its enormous size. There might be some interesting stuff in the palace, but I didn’t have much time to explore it… we were just stopping at Avignon for lunch and a short break as we were heading for Nice.

Avignon is a historical city in France, best known for its Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes), where the Popes lived for much of the 14th century. Seven Popes (all French) resided in Avignon from 1309 to 1377 during the Avignon papacy.
We stopped by Avignon on our journey from Lyon to Nice for our lunch and a bit of extra time to have a walk around the city.

Park of Versailles is one of the largest formal gardens ever created.
The main attraction of the park is probably the variety of fountains that runs during weekends and some special holidays. My visit was on Tuesday unfortunately.

Au revoir Paris. I left Paris before the sunrise and headed to Palace of Versailles (Château de Versailles) along with some tour-mates. My sister was not joining the Versailles’ visit as she has been there before, while some other tour-mates decided to stay in hotel instead.
