Breakfast at Australia Dairy Co. (澳洲牛奶公司), our second day in Hong Kong. Found this restaurant online, a pretty popular on for Hong Kong style breakfast, and it’s conveniently located nearby our hotel in Yau Tsim Mong district.
Australia Dairy is located at Parkes Street (白加士街), a famous food street among the locals with variety of eateries.
The restaurant is known for its pack customers, fast services, and scramble eggs. We ordered two set of breakfast, each with scramble-eggs + toast, soup pasta and a cup of Yin-Yeung (coffee-tea mix), which cost around HK$26 per set.
The food was decent. The scramble egg was as good as it could be, toast was ok, Yin-Yeung was just nice, nothing extraordinary about the pasta.
What amazed me about the restaurant were the environment and its pace. It was packed as expected… we had to share our table with others, and some customers had to stand and wait for their seats. The waiters served the customers with great efficiency, and those who were eating were quite cooperative, finishing their food and leaving ASAP. I guess the fast moving pace is part of Hong Kong culture, and this restaurant reflected it perfectly.
The restaurant do sell milk and dairy products, but I guess it’s not what they are famous for. Not sure how the “Australia” comes into picture though.
