The parents of a young Chinese women dubbed the Avatar girl have appealed for help for an operation to save their daughter’s life.
22-year-old Wu Xiaoyan is suffering from Fibrous Dysplasia – a bone disorder which may result in deformity – which leaves her looking like one of the creations from Avatar movie.
Wu cannot breathe through her nose or smell and can no longer see properly. The tumour has already occupied two-thirds of her face and has to be removed. But the family that has already spent £10,000 on treatment cannot afford the extra £20,000 needed to complete the surgery.
