The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (Bảo tàng Dân tộc học Việt Nam) is a museum in Hanoi which showcases cultures and customs of the 54 recognised ethnic groups in Vietnam. It’s located at Cau Giay District, 20 minutes of driving from city centre.

A traditional building, one of the outdoor exhibits of the museum
The museum was opened in 1997 as a centre for scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation and exhibition in preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation’s different ethnic groups.
The museum also serves to guide research, conservation, and technology development that are specific to the work of an ethnographic museum.
Besides its permanent artefacts and exhibits, the museum also holds special exhibitions and events occasionally. The museum opens daily (except Monday) from 8.30am to 17.30pm. Check out its official website for more information.
