GP Basic – youngest Korean pop group

August 11, 2010 by Yein Jee

GP Basic – dubbed the youngest Korean pop group with an average age of below 14 – is set to make their official debut later this month.

GP Basic youngest Korean girl group

While it’s normal for neighbouring Japan to debut their idols at such young age, the trend has recently caught up in Korea. Another J-pop culture that’s creeping into K-pop is the sexing up of idols image which is often beyond their age… can’t say it’s a good thing, but it’s happening regardless.

Let’s just hope that this upcoming six-members girl group won’t be overexploited by their employer and could happily show off their talents in a proper manner.

[Upate] Their ‘youngest’ title is taken over by Girl Story in December 2010.
