Harmonique Restaurant, Bangkok

Posted on August 1, 2012 - Topics: Travel & Living

First trip to Thailand in 33 years despite the fact that it’s the only country connected by land with West Malaysia. First meal in Bangkok on June 30, at the Harmonique Restaurant which is famous for its Thai-Isan (north-eastern Thai) cuisine…

My Thai trip didn’t start off that well. My flight was delayed for an hour because a plane managed to get onto the wrong lane at the KL Airport. And my Bangkok taxi couldn’t find our hotel swiftly and we ended travelling on the road (traffic was horrible, coupled with the sub-standard air-conditioning under the summer heat) for quite a while.

Luckily the dinner provided some consolation… food is after all the best medicine for everything lol. The restaurant was a cozy place with early-mid-20th-century decoration; food was decent; reasonably priced. Plenty of foreign tourists as it’s located near a number of hotels by the Chaophraya Riverside.
