Lucky wild boars at Indian temple in Malaysia

June 17, 2009 by Yein Jee

An Indian temple in Taiping, Malaysia, is attracting hundreds of daily visitors hoping to get some luck by wrestling interacting with some wild boars…

It’s believed that rubbing your money on the wild boar will bring good luck; and it’s not surprising that the place is getting famous among gamblers.

A friend of mine shared a different (truly unbelievable) story that lucky people can see numbers appearing on the boars’ body; and people are rumoured to have struck lottery with those numbers.

He went there a few times before giving up eventually; too bad he couldn’t get his face on international news lol.

The popularity of the temple has gone beyond superstition and evolving into a tourist spot in recent months. Visitors from as far as Singapore and Thailand (neighbouring countries) are visiting the place to take a peek at the happening.

Not sure if the boars are bringing any luck to the visitors, but they’re bringing good fortune to the temple and businesses in the small town of Taiping for sure.
