Manga illustrator Shotaro Tokuno live drawing

Posted on January 30, 2011 - Topics: Otaku & Wota

A video which shows Japanese manga illustrator Shotaro Tokuno (得能正太郎, loose translation) drawing a manga-ish character with Wacom’s Cintiq 21UX pen tablet. A bit long winded (15 minutes long), but pretty interesting…

The Cintiq enables creative professionals to work with Wacom’s patented professional pen technology directly on the surface of an LCD display, which closely replicates the experience of working with traditional brushes and markers, but offers all the benefits of a digital workflow.

The concept is similar with other tablet computers (iPad etc.) but with higher resolutions and more levels of pressure sensitivity.
