SNSD Dream Concert boycott

June 8, 2008 by Yein Jee

Korean pop group Girls’ Generation received some “silent treatment” at the Dream Concert on June 7, as fans from other pop groups had joined forces to boycott the girls by turning off their light sticks during their performances.

[Update] Apparently it’s not just a silent protest. The antis were actually chanting the name of another girl group – the Wonder Girls during SNSD’s performance. Pretty insulting to be frank, especially when the reasons for boycott were lame to begin with.

On side note, I’m amazed how the fan groups had managed to organise a mass protest of this scale. The country will have a bright future if these young folks can put their organisation skills to good use lol.
