Happy Lunar New Year 2010

February 12, 2010 by Yein Jee

Chinese New Year is arriving on Sunday. This would be the first time I’m not celebrating it in Malaysia; an early wish to my family and friends… Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Sharing a CNY song (a rare English one) by Malaysian songwriter Lleon. Simple tune, cute animation, fitting theme (it’s the year of tiger in Chinese calendar)…

Best wishes as well to the all other folks who are celebrating the lunar new year.

November 24, 2009 by Yein Jee

Been busy for the past week making arrangement for my next travel plan… to Seoul, South Korea. It’s going to be my longest trip ever, close to three months in the country, just within the stay limit without needing to apply for visa.

Already booked my flight ticket, departing in January 2010; will share more stories as time approaches. At the moment, check out this latest Seoul tourism promotion video for the Visit Korea Year (2010-2012) campaign…

[Update] Check out my my first Seoul story, January 2010.

Taiwan armed force use Transformers for recruitment

October 13, 2009 by Yein Jee

Check this out, Transfomers lookalike TV commercial by Taiwan’s Recruitment Center of National Armed Force. Thought it was a prank at first, but it’s real; and the video could be found on its official website [Cn]…

A pretty cool commercial; though I suspect the recruitment drive would fare better if they featured Megan Fox instead lol.

Final Fantasy XIII official trailer @ TGS 2009

October 1, 2009 by Yein Jee

Video game developer Square Enix has released a seven-minutes long Japanese trailer for Final Fantasy XIII at the Tokyo Game Show 2009…

The Final Fantasy franchise was revolutionary in the 80s and 90s, popularising the role-playing-game (RPG) genre with its well written plots and high quality visuals & soundtracks. Not sure if the game will appeal to younger generation these days, but for RPG gamers who grew up in that era, it’s an anticipated game for sure.

FFXIII will be released in Japan in December 2009 on PS3. Xbox and international versions estimated to be available in spring 2010.
