Street Fighter x Tekken game trailer
Game trailer for Street Fighter x Tekken, a combo of the two popular arcade fighting games. I used to play Tekken a lot during high school and uni days, probably good enough to take part in tournaments then lol…
Street Fighter IV game trailer
Check out the trailer for Street Fighter IV, the first original main entry in the popular fighting video game series since 1997. Capcom has released the coin-operated arcade version last year, while the console version will come out next month. The game will also be available on Windows in July 2009.
The cheesy dialogue is a bit annoying, but the video is pretty entertaining visual wise…
Contrary to SF3 which features almost an entirely new set of characters, SF4 brings back many of the beloved warriors from SF2 instead. The arcade version consists of 19 playable characters; and they are introducing another six new fighters to the roster in the console version.
The arcade version of the game is very well received, the console version should do well too. I’m not particularly a fan of the franchise but the game is huge in my generation, at least for people in the Asia Pacific region. I’ll probably pick up the PC version if it’s within my price range.
Speaking of Street Fighter, an English movie based on the video game – i.e. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li – will be released next month too. The timing is probably just a coincidence though.
The Legend of Chun Li movie trailer
Trailer for American martial arts action movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. Kristin Kreuk stars as the title character; and the cast also includes Chris Klein, Neal McDonough, Robin Shou, Moon Bloodgood, Josie Ho, Taboo and Michael Clarke Duncan. In cinemas in Malaysia on February 26.
Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, the film follows the earlier life of Chun Li, a character from popular video game series Street Fighter. Most of the stories take place in Bangkok, and a bit in Hong Kong.
The trailer seems fine but there’s nothing much about Street Fighter. What’s the point of making a movie out of a popular video game when they are not using any of the elements? Could be much more interesting if it shows the origin of the iconic costume and features some famous fighting techniques etc.
Updates and thoughts – It’s a poor movie. The action is average, the cast does OK, and Kristin Kreuk looks cool. The plot is horrible though, it’s boring most of the time. And anyone who expected to see a Street Fighter adaptation would be disappointed because there’s hardly any game features in it.
