Fahrenheit launched official international fansite

Popular Taiwanese boy band Fahrenheit has launched their official international site on April 6. The site is accessible using English, Chinese and Japanese languages.

Fahrenheit is one of the most popular boy bands in Asia. Their albums are not really best sellers, but their popularity is sky high at the moment because of their looks and their success in dramas acting.

Miss China Zhang Zilin is Miss World 2007

Zhang Zilin, a 23-year-old secretary (and model) from People’s Republic of China was crowned as Miss World 2007 on December 1 in Sanya. She’s the first ever Chinese representative to win the Miss World title.

Her victory also meant that Asians have won both major international beauty pageant contests – Miss World and Miss Universe – in 2007. Riyo Mori, a 21-year-old Japanese was crowned the Miss Universe 2007 in May.

Hong Kong TVB Calendar 2008

HD images of the 2008 calendar by Hong Kong broadcaster TVB, featuring the company’s contracted artists. The calendar is a popular annual feature by the television broadcasting company.

The pictorial also hints at the actors who are going to be the focus in coming year(s). TVB is the most dominant broadcaster in Hong Kong, so it’s a big deal for the artists to become a centre figure.

Sidus HQ opens Beijing office

Sidus HQ, one of Korea’s largest talent management agency, has opened an office in Beijing. Some of the agency’s biggest stars include Jun Ji-hyun, Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Do-yeon, Cha Tae-hyun, Jung Woo-sung, Jo In-sung and Jang Hyuk etc.

The Beijing office will promote Sidus’s Korean artists in China as well as looking for new Chinese talents. Sidus HQ also plans to cooperate with Chinese firms in film/TV productions which will feature some of their top stars.

Astro On Demand x The Drive of Life

Malaysian TV network Astro have launched their video on demand service (AOD) in partnership with Hong Kong broadcaster TVB. The first show on the service is The Drive of Life, a business drama filmed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China from United Kingdom.

The TV series is a joint production by TVB and CCTV. The story, which spans over 40 years, follows three brothers who overcome their prejudice and build a successful local automobile brand. The cars and factories in the show belong to Chinese company Geely but appear under a fictional entity.

The drama was filmed in Hong Kong, Beijing, Ningbo and Vancouver. The cast includes Damian Lau, Liao Jingsheng, Michael Miu, Charmaine Sheh, Jessica Hsuan, Joe Ma, Raymond Lam, Sheren Tang, Feng Shaofeng, Myolie Wu, Ron Ng, Toby Leung, Lawrence Ng, Zhao Ke, Gigi Wong and Maggie Chan.

Isabella Leong to star in The Mummy 3

Hong Kong based starlet Isabella Leong is set to make her Hollywood debut in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, co-starring Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Maria Bello, John Hannah and Luke Ford etc.

Isabella is one of the best young Chinese actresses IMO, should be interesting to see how she fares. The movie will begin filming in July in Montreal and Xi’an.
