Otaku culture
The show focuses on the otaku subculture in Japan. Otaku is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests; and it usually refers to hardcore anime and manga fandom.
It’s less serious in global context though, it simply means being an anime fan in most cases.
The first chapter (or Episode 0 as titled) of the show features voice actress Satomi Sato, K-On anime series, Fujisawa High School, figure maker Good Smile Company, and also cosplayer Alodia etc.
Danny Choo runs a popular blog here, and looks like he’s working to build a media franchise of his own. Beside this he also made global headlines a few years ago as the Tokyo Storm Trooper.
