Ishikawa was the youngest person to win a professional golf tournament back in 2007, when he was 15. His record lasted a few years before broken by New Zealand golfer Lydia Ko in 2012.
Ishikawa turned pro in 2008 and is now one of the top players in Japan. He’s also a commercial darling. His fans named him the bashful prince for his shy demeanour in early days.

The teenager won the New South Wales Open – an Australian Ladies Professional Golf Event – to break Japanese Ryo Ishikawa’s men’s mark (15 years, 8 months), and Australian Amy Yang’s women’s record of 16 years, 192 days.
