Scottish tennis star Andy Murray doing a bit of “street magic” in London for Head Tennis. The video is a bit boring at the beginning, but got interesting at mid-way.

Wenlock & Mandeville – London 2012 Olympic Mascots
Meet Wenlock and Mandeville, the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic mascots.
Wenlock is named after Much Wenlock, a small town which inspired the modern Olympic Games; while Mandeville is after Stoke Mandeville Hospital, the precursor of the Paralympic Games.
The characters “were created from the last two drops of British steel used for the London 2012 Olympic Stadium,” kinda confusing but I guess they want to show gratitude to the workforce who built the venues.
I prefer old school animal-like mascots, but I can accept a bit of new concept as long as it’s cute or cool… unfortunately the London mascots couldn’t fit into either of the requirements, simply not my cup of tea.
London set cosplay record
342 video game fans joined forces in London last Saturday (Oct 25) to set a new world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as video game characters.
The gamers dressed as icons from games such as Final Fantasy, Zelda and Solid Snake as part of the London Games Festival at the Excel Centre in Docklands. They narrowly broke a record of 337 set last week in Germany. The Japanese must have no idea about this… they could easily smash it in one of their otaku festivals.
Moscow is world’s most expensive city (2008)
Moscow is ranked the world’s most expensive city for expatriates for the third consecutive year, according to the latest Cost of Living Survey by Mercer.
Mercer’s report is arguably the world’s most comprehensive cost of living survey and is used to help multinational companies and governments to determine compensation allowances for their expatriate employees.
The survey covers 143 cities across six continents and measures the comparative cost of over 200 items in each location, including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment.
Top 10 most expensive cities – Moscow (Russia), Tokyo (Japan), London (UK), Oslo (Norway), Seoul (South Korea), Hong Kong (China), Copenhagen (Denmark), Geneva (Switzerland), Zurich (Switzerland) and Milan (Italy).
Surprisingly the US has only one city in the top 50 (New York at 22nd) and Canada has none… I’ve always thought that it’s expensive to live in that region.
The real London Bridge
This is the real London Bridge. People often mistaken that the Tower Bridge is London Bridge; fact is the real bridge is nothing as fancy as its famous cousin.
Tower of London, UK
Tower of London – often said to be a must visit destination in the English capital. The place was already closing when I reached there during my 2005 trip… not that I planned to go in anyway; somehow I have no interest with its main attractions.
