Maxis Malaysia – Roam & Relax Commercial

A cute Malaysian commercial for mobile network operator Maxis Berhad which focuses on the company’s international roaming service.

The video indicates that the scenes include locations around London, Thailand, and Hong Kong. There are probably more though, I don’t think any of the places have those snowy spots.

Awesome AirAsia Commercial

New TV commercial for AirAsia. The Malaysia based budget airline has changed the landscape for air travel in the region (Southeast Asia in particular), with its fitting slogan Now Everyone Can Fly. Song is Rocketeer by Far East Movement.

Travelling by air becomes much more affordable since AirAsia’s re-establishment in 2001/2002. The already cheaper tickets can become ridiculously low-priced during its famous promotion campaigns. The company also helps to boost tourism across Asia with new routes and frequent flights.

Digi will follow you everywhere in Malaysia

Malaysian commercial for mobile service provider Digi, featuring the company’s now famous Yellow Man mascot. The song is a remake of I Will Follow Him, an oldie made famous by Peggy March in 1960’s.

Digi is one of the major telecommunication companies in Malaysia. Its largest shareholder is Norwegian telco giant Telenor, and that creates a huge disadvantage because Malaysian government doesn’t always play fair in business decisions in order to protect the “local” companies.

Thus, Digi always have to be extra innovative to compete with the rest; and the Yellow Man is one of its major successes. This particular ad aired late last year, can’t remember when the Yellow Man first appeared though. Regardless, the campaigns help a lot to keep Digi’s competitiveness in the market.
