A Transformers-inspired Beijing Olympics commercial by Malaysia’s Astro TV. Pretty cool animation, would be great if it’s made by locals.

Malaysian animation to show on Disney Channel
Nope, it’s not the multimillion Saladin animation… it’s the Bola Kampung, aka the Football Kids, that made it onto Disney Channel instead.
Produced by Animasia Studio, the 26-episode Football Kids will be the first Malaysian animated series to crack the international broadcast network. It will begin airing in 16 countries on the Disney Channel in November 2007
Football Kids tells the story of a group of children with a passion for football and dreams of being on the winning team of their school and their district. Along the way, they also learn about teamwork, friendship and sportsmanship.
Saladin to show in Middle East
Saladin, a Malaysian cartoon depicting the life of 12th century Muslim warrior Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn Ayyūbi, is to be shown in Middle East in late 2008.
Malaysia is still taking baby steps in the animation industry. The Saladin project has received some criticism over its wasteful spending in the past, but it’s still a positive move for the country to tab into the huge global showbiz market.
The trailer looks kinda nice, hope that the full production will be as good.
