Olivia Ong – You and Me music video

April 27, 2010 by Yein Jee

You and Me, an English song by Singaporean singer Olivia Ong, from her Olivia album which was released in March 2010. Ok song, but love her voice…

Interestingly, the singer actually made her debut with a Japanese teenage pop group before starting her solo career in 2005. It took her a few years to make the breakthrough and is currently seen as one of the most promising Asian artists.

Joanne Peh to meet boyfriend’s parents in LA

April 26, 2010 by Yein Jee

Joanne Peh and boyfriend Bobby TonelliSingaporean actress Joanne Peh has revealed that she is going to Los Angeles for both work and private matters, i.e. to meet the parents.

She admitted that her American boyfriend, Bobby Tonelli, will be travelling with her and that she will be meeting with his parents for the first time during the trip. [via Xin.msn]

Joanne and Bobby were co-stars in hit Singaporean drama series Little Nyonya (2008). Their romance first surfaced in May 2009, though both of them were ambiguous about the relationship back then. It became apparent late last year that they are seeing each other indeed.

Universal Studios Singapore welcome visitors

March 23, 2010 by Yein Jee

The Universal Studios Singapore was officially opened on March 18.

Chinese superstition, 8 means prosperity. Hence, opened on March 18, officiated at 8.08am, and grand entrance at 8.28am…

AFAIK it’s the first globally known theme park in Southeast Asia, so there’s plenty of hype about that. Unfortunately Singapore is also the most expensive place in this region; and the ticket is not exactly cheap even in Singaporean standard – SGD72 or about USD50 per adult per day on weekend.

Jackie Chan selling fish in Singapore?

February 9, 2010 by Yein Jee

Jackie Chan sells fish in SingaporeA fish monger in Singapore has been enjoying a bit of celebrity fame for his close resemblance to popular Chinese actor Jackie Chan.

The 48-year-old Mr Chong said that his business has always been well in the past 20 years, partially thanks to his look. He also said that he looks more like Jackie as age grows.

Besides getting extra business, his look also led to a cameo appearance in popular local movie I Not Stupid, starring as none other than ‘Jackie Chan’.

The close resemblance does cause some trouble though, as he’s being asked for autographs and photos quite often despite his denial. [via omy][Cn]
