AKB48 – Sakura no Ki ni Narou music video

Japanese pop group AKB48 has released their 20th single, Sakura no Ki ni Narō (桜の木になろう, lit. becoming a cherry tree), on February 16. AKB48’s Beginner sold over a million copies

Japanese pop group AKB48’s latest single, Beginner, has sold over a million copies since its release in late October – a feat which was last achieved in Japan by tenor Akikawa Masafumi’s Sen no Kaze ni Natte in 2007.

Japanese music video of Kimi no Koto ga Suki Dakara (君のことが好きだから, what I like about you) by pop group AKB48…

The song was included in their 2009 best selling single-album River. Most of the time only 16 of the 48 members (usually the popular crop) would feature in the title track, while some others would feature in secondary tracks, as in this case.

AKB 1/48 dating sim game

Japanese game maker Namco Bandai is set to release AKB 1/48, a PSP dating sim which features members of popular girl group AKB48 as the main characters…

Check out this wiki entry about dating sim if you are not familiar with the genre. The game is said to have more than 10,000 images and 80 minutes of video footages of the AKB48 members. Bet it’s going to sell pretty well.

The single unsurprisingly tops the Oricon sales chart; and pending on official confirmation, has broken their previous record of Ponytail to Shushu.
