5 Friends – Register to vote
Leonardo DiCaprio, will.i.am, Tobey Maguire and Forest Whitaker have created a video to encourage young Americans to register to vote. They also invited their celebrity friends to send the message…
The people who appear in this public service announcement alongside the quartet include Benicio del Toro, Dustin Hoffman, Ellen DeGeneres, Demi Moore, Eva Longoria, Usher, Sarah Silverman, Ashton Kutcher, Jonah Hill, Laura Linney, Kate Bosworth, Kyra Sedgwick, Courteney Cox, Ethan Suplee, Natalie Portman, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Aniston, Amy Adams, Halle Berry, Kevin Connolly, Anthony Kiedis, Adam Levine, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Trachtenberg, Giovanni Ribisi, Kevin Bacon and Julia =)
The 2008 United States presidential election will happen next month. This PSA is to inspire American youth in particular, but the message applies to other democratic countries too.
The voter registration system varies from places to places. There are nations that automatically add citizens to the rolls when they reach legal age, which is probably the best way. Most countries still require people to register in some ways though; and many have to do it in person instead of going online.
