Godzilla: High Grade figures collection

October 16, 2015 by Yein Jee

Video of a Japanese fan showing his huge collection of Godzilla related figures. Not everyone’s cup of tea, skip this if kaiju is not your interest =)

Godzilla: High Grade

Bandai produce the toy line in Japan since 1994. The plastic models are about two inches tall and may need some assembling. There are sold by Gashapon, aka capsule toy vending machines which are commonly seen in Japan.

Bandai usually release a new set when there’s a new Godzilla film in town. Besides the main character, the collection also includes other monsters in the franchise.

Unless things have changed, the Gashapon usually dispense an item by luck. Each machine usually has its specific theme but you cannot control what you get.

In addition, some items are very rare. It requires real dedication – either by sheer numbers or trading with other people – to get such a huge collection.

Takara Tomy Beer Hour

The Japanese company is primarily a toy-gadget maker. Many of its products are made for entertainment instead of genuine usability. It can be brilliant at times, just that it’s not something people would use often after the hype.

Legoland Malaysia – Asia’s first Legoland

September 22, 2012 by Yein Jee

Asia’s first Legoland theme park – located in Malaysia’s Johor State – has opened its doors to public on September 15. It’s the sixth Legoland theme park in the world (Denmark, England, Germany and two in the US). Video by JY…

The theme park should do well in the first year with the flock of Malaysian and Singaporean tourists, though it’s questionable if it could attract decent number of tourists in long run. It’s not something that people would visit often, and the price (RM110-140, or around USD35-45) ain’t cheap at all by local standard.
