SimCity (2013) game trailer

July 16, 2012 by Yein Jee

Trailer for the new SimCity, coming in March 2013. SimCity is a popular city-building video game series. Its last edition (excluding spin-offs) came out way back in 2003, so the fans must be happy with the news.

This latest instalment is using the franchise name as release title which is a bit confusing; they could have put something – e.g. SimCity 5 – to avoid that. Regardless, the video looks pretty awesome.

In the SimCity games, players develop a city by creating zones, and building infrastructures like roads, power plants, and public services like police stations and schools etc. Players also have to manage the financial and social aspects to grow the city. It’s both fun and educational.

I used to play the older version a lot, SimCity 3000 if not mistaken. I didn’t play the 2003 game though, I skipped many entertainment activities during that period because of life commitments.

I’ll probably give the new one a try if time permits. Hope it’s good, if not better than the old games.

Angry Birds on Windows PC

June 3, 2011 by Yein Jee

Angry Birds Windows PCApparently the popular Angry Birds game is available on PC too. The PC version of the game was previously available exclusively on Intel Appstore, but it’s now made available on its official website.

The PC version requires Windows XP SP2 or newer operating system. You can download FREE demos of the original Angry Birds game and Angry Birds Rio. You’ll need to pay ($4.95 each) for the activation key to unlock all levels though.

Angry Birds is arguably the most talk about video game in the past 18 months. The game was first released on Apple iOS in late 2009 and is now available on most major mobile, computer and gaming platforms. Rovio (the developer) is planning to expand the game into a media franchise with animated series and motion pictures etc.

Play Angry Birds online for “free”

May 13, 2011 by Yein Jee

Popular mobile based game Angry Birds is now available online for free (for the first few themes). The online version, currently in Beta, is developed primarily for Google Chrome browser, but it seems that Firefox etc. users can access the web game just fine at Angry Birds Chrome’s official site, at least for the current moment.

Angry Birds Google Chrome

Angry Birds was first released for Apple OS in late 2009 and is arguably the most popular mobile game application to date. It has been released to other platforms (Android etc.) over the period, and its popularity is still rising, with expectation of 100 million downloads in China alone in near future.

The web based Angry Birds won’t be free eternally though; gamers will have to pay to access “premium levels” when the Beta testing is over. The paid version of the game (on Apple etc.) is pretty affordable, so the upgrade should be quite cheap as well.

Though to be honest, the experience of playing the game on web browser is far less interesting than playing it on iPad or similar touch-screen devices.
