The Roman Baths in the City of Bath, England, is an old Roman public bathing site. The baths are no longer usable but the complex is now a museum and popular tourist attraction. Visited the place in 2005…
Personal
City of Bath, Somerset, England
Most buildings in the City of Bath were built of limestone, which were originally yellowish (some say golden); but lots of those looked dark and brownish during my 2005 visit because of aging and pollution.
Bath was undergoing massive restoration to return the city to its original yellowish appearance. From the pic of the famous Royal Crescent above, you can see some parts were brighter/cleaner than the rest.
Lacock Village, Wiltshire, England
Lacock is a small village in Wiltshire, England. Had a short stop there in 2005 en route to Bath and Stonehenge; beautiful little place…
My visit to Zoo Negara Malaysia
A visit to Malaysia’s Zoo Negara (National Zoo) earlier this month. It was our king’s birthday and a public holiday; my sister (with hubby and kids) from the northern state of Penang took the chance to visit us in Kuala Lumpur… and the zoo seemed like the perfect place for family outing, especially with a bunch of children.
Cherhill White Horse, Wiltshire, UK
Took a day tour to Bath and Stonehenge during my UK trip in 2005. The tour departed on 8am on a MPV, with a driver-guide and 13 other tourists.
The driver stopped midway on the road, and pointed us to a large horse-like figure on a hill slope distance away. Honestly I was blurred about what he said (something about chalk), as I never heard of anything about it before…
London trip random photos
Random photos in London, first full day of my Europe trip in October 2005…
The National Gallery
I am not an artistic person; didn’t plan to visit the National Gallery, but I was desperately in need to visit the toilet… might as well take a peep after the pee.
It turned out to be an impressive hour of enlightenment… the colours and attention-to-details of some paintings were simply stunning; it didn’t required much artistic sense to appreciate the works. Not to be missed by art lovers.
