Travelogue of my month long trip (Oct 5 – Nov 3) in Europe in 2005. Visited my sister who was working in London that time, and together we went on a 19-days tour across France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands.
This is a summary of the trip. Check the links for more stories and photos.
London – Arrived on Oct 5. Abandoned my initial plan to Oxford the next day due to jet-lag; decided to walk around the city instead. This was my second London visit (first in 2001), just wandering without particular plan, and bumped into the Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and Tower Bridge etc.
Paris – Oct 9, the beginning of our European tour. Departed early and arrived at Paris in the evening. Visited the Notre Dame and had a night cruise at Seine. Ascended the Eiffel (pic) the next day and had a great view of Paris from atop. Visited Montmatre next, followed by the Louvre. Went for an eye opening cabaret show at night.
Visited Versailles on Oct 11 before departing for Lyon, where we were staying for a short night en route to Nice the next morning. Arrived in Nice in the afternoon; visited Avignon while on our way. Had an excursion to Monte Carlo at night.
Had a free morning on Oct 12 before visiting St Paul de Vence in the afternoon.
Florence – Had a stop at Pisa en route to Florence.
