Trailer for American experimental epic drama film The Tree of Life. Written and directed by Terrence Malick and stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Hunter McCracken, Laramie Eppler, Jessica Chastain and Tye Sheridan.
The film explores the meaning of life from the perspective of a middle-aged man’s childhood memories of his family living in the 1950s Texas. Not sure what to expect from the movie but this trailer deserves an award of its own; it’s so subtle, a bit disturbing at some point but visually beautiful nonetheless.
The release date has been delayed a few times since late 2009. Part of that was due to production issues, but I guess major distributors have doubts over the plot; this seems like a movie that may do well at awards but a bit too much for general entertainment (and the box office.)
