Korean actor Won Bin stayed over a week in the African nation of Gambia in April with UNICEF. The 32-year-old star works with the organisation since 2007.
UNICEF is a United Nation humanitarian program providing help to children and mothers in developing countries. Official website here.
Meanwhile, Gambia is the smallest country in mainland Africa. In 2008 about a third of the population lived below the international poverty line of US$1.25.
His activity
Won Bin visited schools and public health centres in slum areas. This trip in particular focused on malaria-prevention and general health improvements.
A South Korean TV program is documenting his visit. He will also hold photography exhibition back in Korea to raise awareness on UNICEF’s initiatives.
