Japanese actress Erika Sawajiri, 22, and creative director Tsuyoshi Takashiro, 44, tied the knot on Monday (Jan 19) at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo.
Sawajiri was one of the most promising Japanese actresses after starring in drama series One Litre of Tears in 2005. Her career took a downturn in 2007 though following some attitude controversies.
It’s also around that period when her relationship with Takashiro surfaced, which further complicated the issues. They moved to London later that year with the actress taking a break from the show business.
Their wedding rumours had circulated since mid 2008 when they returned to Japan. The couple confirmed the news earlier this month and registered their marriage soon after; followed by the traditional ceremony about two weeks later.
I wish them happiness, but this probably signals the end of Sawajiri’s entertainment career.
