SKE48 is a popular Japanese female pop group, with hit songs like Banzai Venus and 1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku! etc.
SKE stands for Sunshine Sakae, the location of their theatre in Nagoya where they are performing every Saturday. Check out SKE48 members profile.
SKE48’s Team S debuted in October 2008 as theatre based idols in Nagoya, an expansion from the Tokyo based AKB48. The girls released their first single Tsuyokimono yo in August 2009. The group also enrolled their second batch of members, named as Team KII (to differentiate from AKB’s Team K) in the summer.
SKE48’s 4th single 1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku!, released in November 2010, was their first to achieve over 100,000 sales in its debut week. SKE48 completed their formation in December with the intro of Team E.
SKE48 released their 5th single, Banzai Venus, in March 2011. The single was their first Oricon chart topper with over 200,000 copies sold in its debut week.
