More than 200 Chinese artists joined hands at a fundraising concert on June 1 in Hong Kong to raise funds for the Sichuan quake victims. They managed to collect close to HK$35 millions (US$4.5 millions) from the show. Image by Xinhuanet.
The 8-hour marathon concert was part of the Artistes 512 Fund Raising Campaign. It’s led by Hong Kong pop star Andy Lau and a few others. Celebrities and artists from mainland-China, Hong Kong and Taiwan took part in the event.
Some of the big names who participated include Alan Tam, A-mei, Eric Tsang, Harlem Yu, Hu Jun, Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung, Jay Chou, Kelly Chen, Leon Lai, Lin Chi-Ling, Richie Jen, Samuel Hui, Sun Nan and Tony Leung etc.
