Chinese song by Rainie Yang; Korean songs by 2am and Gavy NJ; English song by Filipina star Charice Pempengco (ft. Iyaz).
Rainie Yang – Rainie Love
Title track (雨爱) of Taiwanese pop star Rainie Yang’s latest album which was released in January 2010. Ending song for drama series Hi My Sweetheart which she co-starred with Show Luo…
TV commercial for Pepsi featuring a few worldclass football players, i.e. Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Ricardo Kaká, Frank Lampard, Andrei Arshavin, Didier Drogba, and also singer Akon with his cameo and song Oh Africa…
The FIFA World Cup will be held in South Africa this year, hence the theme. Sentimental wise it would be nice if there’s an Asian face in the commercial, but I guess there’s no Asian players who are ‘world-class’ enough to feature in the ad.
Remember the bizarre cosplay of Kirsten Dunst on Tokyo streets? Well, the music video is out (or leaked?), with Kirsten singing and dancing to The Vapors’ 1980 hit Turning Japanese. Slightly unsafe for work/kids with explicit anime images.
Titled as Akihabara Majokko Princess, the video is produced by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and directed by McG (of Charlie’s Angels movie etc.) for an exhibition at London’s Tate Modern museum.
The video won’t last long, watch it while you can… And yeah, I’m loving it.
[Update] As expected the video is removed from Youtube. I’ve embedded with new vids for a few times, but I guess that’s it for now.
Filipina star Charice Pempengco performed at the NBC Silk Soymilk Skate for the Heart special, a special skating entertainment event featuring all of the 2009 US National Figure Skating Champions and 2010 Olympic hopefuls…
Korean figure skating star Kim Yuna performing at the exhibition gala at the 2009 Grand Prix Final, skating to Rihanna’s Don’t Stop The Music…
Note that this video is not a competitive performance, but a gala event to conclude the competition. Kim has already won the gold medal earlier before this gala. It’s still a great performance despite for a non-competitive show.
Korean pop group Wonder Girls made their American prime time TV debut on popular show So You Think You Can Dance as guest performers on December 9; performing the English version of their hit song Nobody…
No comment about the performance; but their boss JYP is doing some serious PR stuff in US. First as guest stars for Jonas Brothers, then on national TV, and now on prime time; he is doing everything right to promote the girls.
Btw, wondering why Sun Mi was wearing (a really cool pair of golden) sneakers instead of high heels like the rest of the members. Cute though.
Canadian music producer David Foster spoke about Filipina teenage singing sensation Charice Pempengco during an interview with Balitang America, a nightly show of American-Filipino channel ABS-CBN Global…
“I’ve always believed that the next huge big star will be Asian. And I believe that Charice is the one,” said Foster.
How true is he going to be, I wonder… but Charice’s future seems positive with words and guidance from a legend who has bagged 15 Grammy awards and credited for discovering Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé.
