Fried/roasted chicken must be a huge biz in Korea, or perhaps it’s cheap to hire Korean celebs to endorse their product, or probably a bit of both.

Sharing here some Korean commercials featuring popular girls groups SNSD, Wonder Girls, Kara and 4minutes for different chicken restaurant chains…

Video from Korean pop group Wonder Girls’ official Youtube channel, a mash-up of their performances as opening act for the Jonas Brothers’ concert at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on July 19-21…

Seems like the Wonder Girls are performing Nobody, Nobody and Nobody besides “Nobody” throughout the tour so far. Seriously, aren’t they going to sing another song? An English version of “Tell Me” perhaps?

The girls are obviously getting noticed, for good or bad, among Jonas fans. But if they want to get bigger publicity in the US, they need something more than just singing the same old song with the same old look for two long months.

Korean pop group Wonder Girls performs the English version of their hit song “Nobody” at The Wendy Williams Show on Monday (July 21), which was apparently the girls’ American TV debut…

To be frank I’m not sure who Wendy Williams is, but it’s a national TV show… can’t be bad in terms of exposure. Check the official clip on Wendy’s blog if the video above is not working [video via chanesechic@Youtube]

Korean pop star Park Jin-young JYPSeems like the MTV Asia Awards will be back to Malaysia again in 2009, according to Korean pop mogul JYP that is.

No official confirmation has been made by MTV Asia yet, but JYP lets his words slipped with his recent Tweet

“Sorry cuz of the Jonas Brothers tour we can’t go to da MTV asian awards in Malaysia. But I’m sending 2pm so don’t b too sad!”

The ‘we’ is referring to JYP’s favourite employees, the Wonder Girls, who are busy working as opening act for Jonas Brothers’ tour in USA; and as replacement his company is sending boy band 2PM to the award ceremony instead.

Funny thing is most folks didn’t know that MAA will be held in Malaysia again, or if it would be held at all in 2009… and we certainly didn’t know that the Wonder Girls were scheduled to come at the first place.

Korean pop group Wonder Girls has released the English version of their hit song “Nobody” in preparation for their American debut.

The girls will perform as opening act in the next two months for Jonas Brothers tour and is scheduled to release their first English album later on…

Gosh, they should just sing in Korean, which sounds so much better. One or two of them did well, but overall the English is crappy; and there’s a few notes that are seriously off, probably due to their uneasiness with the language as well.

Seriously, just let them sing in Korean in Jonas’ concert… let the girls show what they’ve got instead of pushing too hard with their English. If the studio recording isn’t half good, imagine what will happen when it’s live.

Khmer version of “Nobody” by Cambodian quartet RHM, originally sang by Korean pop group Wonder Girls. Not only did they copy (without permission) the song, but the choreography and outfits are almost identical too…

JYP Entertainment (WG’s agency) has confirmed that it’s plagiarism and is now seeking legal actions against the copycats. It’s said that there are other pirated versions in Chinese and Thai… but the Khmer version is the only one I found on Youtube.

Most netizens, presumably K-pop (and/or WG’s) fans are bashing the Cambodian act; blogger Brian shared some different thoughts though, that Koreans themselves are questionable for their copycat works over the years.

Set the legal issue aside, I actually giggled watching the video… not sure why.

Korea’s major school uniform makers have agreed to end all celebrity endorsements indefinitely before the new school term begins in March; the cost cutting decision was made following government’s demand to halt the rising prices of school uniforms.

It’s a good call from the government and manufacturers, but some fans might mourn that they won’t be seeing their favourite idols in cute uniforms in near future. Sharing here some star-studded Korean school uniform commercials to ease their pain lol…

Sunye’s (from WonderGirls) wardrobe trouble seems to be grabbing the headlines though; and Big Bang’s fans are wondering how their favourite group managed to end up with nothing at all considering how red hot they are at the moment.
