American folks celebrate the National Doughnut Day today (first Friday in June), and Krispy Kreme is offering customers who visit participating Krispy Kreme retail locations in the United States one free doughnut of their choice.

National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to raise funds during the Great Depression and to honor the work of World War I Salvation Army volunteers who prepared doughnuts for thousands of soldiers.

As said, it’s celebrated annually on the first Friday in June. I demand this day to be celebrated around the world… everyone deserved a free donut :p

It has become a habit of mine to visit franchises like 7-Eleven or McDonald’s when I visit to different countries. Although they are similar in every countries, normally each places would have their own unique stuff that are not available elsewhere.

It has also become a habit of mine to taste different (local) beer and instant noodles when I visit different countries…
